Notice:
Open Listen-and-Write Window
- Click Listen-and-Write Button on Main
Window, or
- Press the "F4" shortcut key,
or
- Click "Menu" -> "Study" ->
"Listen-and-Write";
After
you have
opened it, an interface will appear as shown in the
following picture:

First of all, you must choose a kind
of Study Method
from Study Method List. Study methods include three kinds:
Automatic Study
Method, Manual
Study Method, and Self-defined
Study Method. The Automatic
Study Method is default Study
Method when you start Listen-and-Repeat.
Playing Control Button
- Previous Sentence Button
Under the Automatic
Study Method mode and the Manual
Study Method mode, pressing this button will play
the previous sentence, and the corresponding wave form
is displayed. If it is under the Self-defined
Study Method mode, this button can just be used
only after you're finished studying a sentence.
Shortcut Key: F7
- Next
Sentence/Cut Sentence Button
Under the Automatic
Study Method mode, pressing this button will play
the next sentence, and the corresponding wave form is
displayed. Under the Manual
Study Method mode, after pressing this button, the
icon of the button is turned into scissors, it means
that you can press this button to cut a sentence. Later
the icon of the button turn into the original figure
again. You can use this function repeatedly until the
whole audio file is finished. Under the Self-defined
Study Method mode, this button can be used only
after finishing the study of a sentence.
Shortcut key: F8
- Play/Pause/Exit Self-defined Study Method
Mode Button
This button has double functions. You can play and pause
by using it under the Automatic
Study Method mode and the Manual
Study Method mode. You also can press this button
any time under the Self-defined
Study Method mode to exit the Self-Defined
Study Method mode and get back to the Automatic
Study Method mode.
Shortcut key: F9
The Writing Zone includes the following functions:
- Create
Pressing this button will empty text in present Writing
Zone, and then create a new blank file. If there is
unsaved text, it will show a message window for you
to confirm to empty without saving.
- Open
Pressing this button to open a text file.
- Save as
Under the default situation, Speak2easy will save the
text file automatically. Users don't need to save manually.
The saved file's name includes the first part of the
course file name plus ".txt". It is saved under the
same directory as the Sentence Information Files. But
if users want to back up this file, then they can use
this button.
- Font
You can define the font's name, size and color by using
this function.
- PopMenu
A popmenu will appear when you click Writing Zone by
pressing the right mouse button. It includes these functions:
Undo, Cut, Delete, Copy , Paste, Select All and Clear.
Notice:
Speak2easy will look for the Writing Text File automatically
each time you open the Listen-and-Write window. It
will be displayed in the Writing Zone if found.

Current Sentence Column
On the lower right corner of this window there is
a number showing the number of the current sentence
and the total number of sentences. For example, "9/23"
means that the whole course file includes 23 sentences,
you are studying the 9th sentence now.
- Close Button
Clicking Close Button will close the window.
